The after won't be a complete overhaul (with paint and decor), but the changes made a pretty big difference. I refinished the vanity using the same method as the kitchen cabinets. As the the floors, I used peel-and-stick, grouted vinyl tiles. Let me tell you, I was VERY impressed. Not only were they easy to install, but they also looked just like real tile! Little Man even helped me with the install.
I started out by laying out all of the tiles on the floor to see where the grout lines would fall before taking off the baking. Once they were cut and laid out on the floor, I began to peel off the backing and stick them to the floor. I used tile spacers at the corners to ensure that they were evenly spaced out. After placing all of the tiles, I removed the spacers and then began grouting. I used a premixed grout so that all I had to do was use a grout float to distribute the grout.
I promise he didn't do the whole bathroom! Similar to normal tile, after grouting wipe the surface clean with a wet sponge and let dry. Then, voila! You have a brand new floor that looks just like tile without the hassle of using a wet saw to cut ceramic tiles. These can be cut using box cutter! Simple enough for even the most inexperienced DIY-er. I highly recommend this product and would certainly use it again.
Can you tell that it's not real tile? The only difference is the texture under your feet and that it doesn't get as cold to the touch. I used the extra product to finish the basement bathroom as well.
For a product that was so inexpensive and easy to install I highly recommend it to anyone looking for an affordable and easy way to upgrade their bathroom flooring.
